What product would be best to treat/clean compression and oil control rings in 4 cylinder engine. Currently uses 1 fl. oz. of oil per 100 miles so I want to stay ahead of this problem. Car has 225,000 mi. Am planning on using B-12 poured in each cylinder over a 24 hour period , rotating engine by hand every 6 hours, then run on highway for 3 miles and change oil and filter. no visible tailpipe smoke at start up or when driving.

Using Berryman B-12 CHEMTOOL FUEL INJECTOR CLEANER (part #0116) is a suitable plan of attack for the compression rings as long as the rings are tight and you don’t have any leak-down to speak of. As for the oil ring, we offer Berryman OIL CHANGE FLUSH (part #1216), which treats 3 to 6 quarts of oil. Alternatively, for this application you can also use 0116, which will be more assertive than 1216. To use the B-12, add 1½-2 fl oz of 0116 to your COLD engine oil and let engine idle until warm. Then replace the oil and filter.
