I recently received the check engine light code P0404 on my 2005 dodge grand caravan SXT 3.8 L engine and I am looking to clean the EGR valve as opposed to buying a new one. Which Berryman product would you recommend that I use and For how long should I allow your product to remain inside my EGR valve before removing it? A few minutes, a few hours, or 24 hours?

Soaking the EGR valve in Berryman B-12 Chemtool Fuel Injector Cleaner (part #0116) for 20 to 30 minutes would be effective, but you do run the risk of damaging any plastic components. A safer bet and more common method is to use an aerosol cleaner like Berryman B-12 Chemtool Carburetor, Choke & Throttle Body Cleaner (part #0117) and blast the carbon out that way. We recommend wearing gloves and eye protection when using such practices.
